Day 42: The Fourth Quarter

Mason Darrow 2017

The fourth quarter is without question the most important time period in sports (for the sports that use quarters, of course). Every sports fan can recall a few of the most famous fourth quarter moments, whether it be triumphant examples like Deshaun Watson driving Clemson the length of the field to win a National Championship, or catastrophic mistakes that cost teams a title *(seriously though Pete Carroll, all you had to do was let Marshawn eat), the fourth quarter is what makes or breaks your game.

“I’m looking forward to another two weeks of grinding, learning, and bonding with the MSBA family. This program has already done so much to help prepare me for the next steps in my career, and I’m excited to see what more I can get out of it in the sprint to the finish.”

The first three quarters of MSBA have been better than I ever could’ve imagined. I’ve had an incredible experience interning at The Players’ Tribune. I’ve been able to hear from a variety of industry professionals and expand my knowledge of the sports industry, while also being able to check out some really cool offices. Perhaps most importantly, I’ve been able to develop amazing relationships – with supervisors, coworkers, Mentors, and obviously my fellow MSBA students.

While I’m grateful that the program has so-far surpassed my expectations, and that I feel I’ve been able to take full advantage of it, I know from my athletic career that it’s not about how you start, it’s how you finish. I’m looking forward to another two weeks of grinding, learning, and bonding with the MSBA family. This program has already done so much to help prepare me for the next steps in my career, and I’m excited to see what more I can get out of it in the sprint to the finish.

*For the record I’m not a Seahawks fan, but as an offensive lineman I was personally offended by Carroll’s decision to pass on the three-yard line.
