My entire life I’ve been taught if you want something bad enough, you have to go after it. That’s exactly what 25 of us did. I look around at the room of 24 other MSBA 2016 members, all equally deserving of the seats they occupy, and know that we’re here because we’ve earned this. It’s crazy to think we are in the final moments where all 25 of us will be in the same place at the same time. This summer we’ve all shared a common focus, but in reality we’ve each taken different paths to get here.
“MSBA exists because of its people. We are people who understand that if you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. MSBA participants are the type of people who certainly don’t take no for an answer.”
Tonight, Lorne and Bailey of the MSBA Staff provided us with a Resume and Interview Workshop. They spoke on the importance of making a resume your own and how to present yourself genuinely. This workshop came at the perfect time as we are closing out the summer.
As my time in Manhattan reaches its end, I begin thinking about all of the amazing people that have come into my life. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to be surrounded by for eight weeks. I am truly going to miss the friendships I have made here, but I am confident in saying they are relationships that will last a lifetime.
MSBA exists because of its people. We are people who understand that if you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. MSBA participants are the type of people who certainly don’t take no for an answer. When the odds are against us, we continue to give 110%. We know that there are always options, but quitting is never one of them. MSBA has brought us likeminded individuals together, and no matter where life takes us, the 25 of us will forever be the MSBA Class of 2016.
