It is hard to believe that I have been working for Madison Square Garden and participating in MSBA 2016 for over a month now. I really could not ask for a more incredible summer filled with experiences that I will never forget. One experience that I am looking forward to getting is working my first event. Yes, I have helped out at events before, but nothing that could be considered in the same category as MSG.

The event, a reception followed by the guest’s choice of ether golfing or having a relaxing spa treatment, is at the Foxwood Resort and Casino, a sponsor of MSG. Today, I was running around prepping for that event, making sure that everything was going to run smoothly and that we had everything we needed and more. I am extremely fortunate to have such an incredible supervisor who has guided me through this preparation. I had to triple check the guest itineraries and develop the itinerary for the alumni who would be joining us. However, my biggest challenge was creating the “Fact Sheet” and “Run of Show” for the event. This was pretty much for the entire event staff so they could understand exactly what was happening and when. With the help of my amazing co-worker, we got this done in a very polished manner. Every day I am so amazed that I get the opportunity to work at Madison Square Garden and I would not be gaining this truly incredible experience without participating in MSBA. We had the night off of MSBA programming, which was perfect because off to the event I went!
The lessons that I have learned throughout the summer with MSBA helped me feel confident and prepared for this experience. I knew how to organize and make sure I was constantly one step ahead of the event. This made me reflect yet again how beneficial Manhattan Sports Business Academy will be towards my career in the sports world. This program not only gives you amazing friends and a chance to see incredible speakers, but it also gives you the strongest base to stand on.
