Where do I even begin? So much has happened to me in these past two weeks that I struggle with trying to find a starting point to write this blog. I could begin with my first day as a Marketing Intern at Mission Athletecare, where I was able to take part in a photo shoot that took me around the entire city. Or maybe I should start with day two of my internship, where I came face-to-face with basketball all-star Dwyane Wade. I could also brag about the amount of networking I have already engaged in, as well as the incredible mentors I have been given through this remarkable program. This is rapidly becoming the most important summer of my entire life.
“Applying for this MSBA program was honestly the best decision I have ever made; it has only been two weeks and I can already say this with confidence.”
My goal this summer is to come out of this experience with an understanding of what it means and takes to work within the sports industry. Coming in, I expected to meet with countless established people in this industry and gain an abundance of knowledge throughout the summer. MSBA has already exceeded my expectations; it is truly amazing to me how many connections and contacts I have already made in just these two weeks. The experiences that I have had within these past two weeks will not be easy for me to forget. Among many things, I got a backstage pass to Madison Square Garden, where we got the chance to walk onto the famous court where the Knicks play, and visited GlideSlope, where we got the chance to talk with the staff (considered to be a group of Olympic experts). Both were truly inconceivable experiences.
MSBA 2016 is filled with amazing people and incredible minds, all of which hold the same passion for sports. Being around these people is not only refreshing, it’s exhilarating and motivating as well. We all want each other to succeed, and I have a feeling these are the people who we will be doing business with in the near future. Applying for this MSBA program was honestly the best decision I have ever made; it has only been two weeks and I can already say this with confidence.
