Day 36: The Perfect Fit

Christian Porter 2015

After another great week of my internship and MSBA programming, it is crazy to think about how fast the summer is going. My internship at Foot Locker has been a perfect fit for me. Given that I’m a huge basketball fan, working in the basketball department has been awesome. One of my main priorities is to help analyze shoes that are releasing each week and decide which stores receive them and how many each store gets. For those unfamiliar with the shoe release process, the demand for some of these shoes is off the charts! Therefore, deciding the numbers for each store is crucial. Additionally, my coworkers at Foot Locker are a diverse group of people that have truly helped me develop professionally.

However, given July 4th weekend, we were able to take Friday off and I took the opportunity to visit my friend’s vacation house in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. The trip was extremely relaxing and a perfect break at this point in the summer. I even randomly bumped into one of my coworkers while in New Jersey! Today, most of the day involved me traveling back to New York, however I fortunately was able to catch the onslaught that the United States Women’s Soccer Team put on Japan! The poise and determination that the women displayed was truly admirable. Another week is in the books and unfortunately I know this summer will be over before I know it. The experiences have already been enough to fill an entire summer, but luckily I still have a few more weeks! Hopefully, I don’t blink and miss it.
