Executive Director of Non-Baseball Revenue – New York Yankees

Mark Holtzman has over 25 years of experience in Sports Marketing. In the early 80’s, he was Director of Special Events for ProServ Inc, and was responsible for putting on tennis and basketball events around the world. Mark also assisted in the management of some of the world’s most famous athletes such as Moses Malone, Michael Jordan, Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl. In 1984, he joined a small footwear and apparel company that was struggling to stay afloat – Reebok Int Ltd. Mark was one of the first employees, and was responsible for running worldwide sports marketing. In his ten years there, Reebok grew from 25 million dollars in sales to over 3 billion. In 1994, he left Reebok for the National Football League, where he was the Senior Vice President in charge of Club Marketing & Consumer Products. During his 14 years at the NFL, Mark’s team created an apparel and hard goods model of product exclusivity and doubled the profitability of the business. On the NFL club level, he played a large role in the evolution of a business model of almost completely national rights exclusivity to a much more flexible model where the local clubs retained significant rights.

For the last 5 years, Mark has worked for the New York Yankees, serving as Executive Director of Programming & the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. He has developed a college football program that includes universities such as Notre Dame, Army, and Rutgers. In 2010, the Yankees launched the New Era Pinstripe Bowl; the bowl features schools from the Big East and Big 12 Conferences, and continues to grow in both popularity and viewership each year. Mark’s team has also produced several concerts featuring Grammy Award-winning artists such as Jay-Z, Paul McCartney, and Madonna. In the last two years, Yankee Stadium has had the good fortune of hosting top international soccer games and players, including Christiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres, and Petr Cech. Most recently, they have announced a partnership with the National Hockey League to produce two hockey games in January, 2014 as part of the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series.
